PROGRAM #10397 12:00 PM PT
Immigration Edition. The Biden administration is preparing an executive action that would allow the president to temporarily shut down the southern border and suspend the entry of migrants temporarily. This action is expected as early as this week. In other news, community leaders in Pennsylvania joined the call on President Biden to grant work permits to undocumented spouses and immediate family of US citizens, Dreamers ineligible for DACA and long-term workers without a path to legal status. They urge Biden to expand existing parole programs such as “parole in place” to long-term immigrants who have been working and paying taxes for years, even decades. These and other news are discussed in this edition. Lastly, former President Donald Trump was convicted of all 34 counts of falsifying business records in a scheme to illegally influence and corrupt the 2016 election. He is the first former president convicted of felony crimes. What does the verdict mean? Will Trump go to prison? Will he be able to vote? Will this have an impact on voters?

Danilo Burgos, D-Pennsylvania, Chairman of the Pennsylvania Legislative Caucus and Member of the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators, Philadelphia, PA; José López Zamorano, News Correspondent, Washington, DC.
