The Latino population has increased at an accelerated pace in the U.S. in the last 20 years. But the number of Latino doctors has not corresponded to that jump, but instead, has decreased in proportion. This has consequences in the state of health of Latino patients, since it is well known that Latinos that are attended by Latino doctors tend to visit their doctors more frequently and follow their instructions better.
