Calls to Fix Census’ Undercount of Latino, Blacks, and Native Americans
The Census Bureau has acknowledged that more than 3 million Latinos were not counted in the last census. Millions of Latinos being left out of the population registry would mean fewer resources for families and communities and less political influence.
2020 Census Undercount Causes Criticism and Possible Lawsuits
Millions of Latinos, Blacks and Native Americans were undercounted in the 2020 census at a higher rate than 10 years ago. The undercount means these communities will receive less of the multibillion-dollar federal resources doled out annually.
Colleges Serving Latinos Help Low-Income Students Get Ahead
The colleges that offer low-income students the greatest opportunities to move up the social ladder are led by ten universities in California, New York and Texas that serve Latinx students. This is according to a study entitled “Out with the Old, In with the New.”
