PROGRAM # 9354 12:00 PM PDT
Covid Vaccines in the Fields.
Farmworkers are among the hardest hit by the Covid-19 pandemic and among the last to get the vaccine. Stemming the spread of the virus in the fields is being a big challenge because of low vaccination rates among those working in farms and food processing plants. Why do farmworkers delay getting the shot? How effective and safe is the vaccine? What are the new risks raised by the new Delta variant? This program is aired in collaboration with the National Center for Farmworker Health.
Guests: Sandra Leal, Executive Vice President for the Health Plan Unit at Tabula Rasa Healthcare, President, American Pharmacists Association, Tucson, AZ; Saul Rojas González, Farmworker, Ashville, NC; Lisbeth Gall, Health Education Coordinator, National Center for Farmworker Health, Buda, Texas.
