When the online health insurance marketplace healthcare.gov opened on October 1st, it received millions of visits in the first day. The rush of interest created glitches and long waits for prospective insurance buyers, but administration officials say they may be victims of their own success. Has the exchange overcome its technical glitches? How has it performed overall on its first week of business?

While Congress remains bitterly divided over how to overcome the budget impasse, another deadline nears later this month: raising the nation’s debt ceiling.
