PROGRAM # 9263 12:00 PM PDT

Latinos and Vaccines.

The CDC published new guidelines on masks for fully vaccinated people. What does this change mean for grocery shopping, schools, and workplaces? How about family gatherings and travel? Can vaccinated people go back to normal? What about unvaccinated children? How to know who is vaccinated and who is not? A public health leader also comments on vaccine access and vaccine hesitancy, and the results of a recent survey showing that while Latinos are the most eager to get vaccinated, too many of them have not received the shot. Listeners call in to warn about misinformation and suggest the need to bring in more qualified scientists on the air, on the increasing need of carrying the vaccine card when using public transportation. One listener expressed distrust at door-to-door vaccination campaigns.

Guests: Yurina Melara Valiulis, Public Information Officer, COVID-19 Vaccine Task Force, California Department of Public Health, Los Angeles, CA

Vaccines for Children. The first mass vaccination campaign for children in the world is starting in the US after the recent approval of the Pfizer shots for kids 12 to 15. What does it mean for homes and schools? How to get kids vaccinated? What are the new guidelines for using face masks, keeping social distancing and keeping quarantine protocols?

Guest: Dr. Eloisa Gonzalez, Preventive Medicine Expert, Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, Los Angeles, CA.
