PROGRAM # 8393 12:00 PM PT
Health Care and the Midterms.
Health care issues are becoming a hot debate topic for the upcoming midterm elections. Opinion polls show that health care has risen to the top as an issue, especially among women voters, in the midterm elections. Analysts examine the current impact of the rising prices of health insurance and the effect on the November vote of the efforts to discontinue protections for people with pre-existing conditions and other efforts of the Trump administration to weaken ACA programs. On another topic, California Gov. Brown signed a law banning cities and counties from enacting taxes on soda and sugary drinks, after some cities in the San Francisco Bay Area became the first in the nation. An analyst explains the politics behind this election deal.
