In order to better serve public radio audiences during the unprecedented crisis of Covid-19, Radio Bilingüe is bringing back its weekday news service “Noticiero Latino.”
Starting Monday, May 11th, Radio Bilingüe will air “Boletín Urgente de Noticiero Latino,” a five-minute, Spanish-language news segment with a focus on news developments impacting the lives of Latinos during the pandemic.
The premiere editions of “Boletín Urgente” will feature Covid-19 patients or survivors who had to struggle to get tested because their symptoms were not those commonly designated in the official guidelines; the new coronavirus hotspots impacting thousands of essential workers; and the uphill struggle of Latino small business owners to get critically needed disaster loans.
Those stories and more will be presented through a combination of news feature reports, mini-interviews and news spots.
The five-minute segment will run Monday through Friday starting at 6 AM PST at the top of the hour through Radio Bilingüe’s broadcast service. It will also be made available online on Radio Bilingüe’s audio stream and as audio-on-demand file. The programs can be used as self-contained modules or as a component of a program.
With main offices in Fresno, CA, and around 100 carrier stations around the US, Radio Bilingüe is the preeminent producer of Latino-oriented programming in US public radio.
