PROGRAM # 8064 12:00 PM PT
The Health Care Vote.
After a controversial health care bill was narrowly passed in the House, Republican congressmembers from California go back home on recess to face angry constituents. At least seven of those Republicans who voted for the bill are now in trouble, over questions about the massive cuts against Medicaid and the negative impact on people with pre-existing conditions. A health-beat reporter, a health care advocate, and California congressmembers with opposing views join this program to examine the impact of the legislation with special focus on the Central Valley and the state’s inlands.
Guests: Ana Ibarra, Reporter, Kaiser Health News, Sacramento, CA; Nancy M. Gomez, Organizing Director, Health Access, Glendale, CA; Rep. Raúl Ruiz, D-CA, Coachella, CA; Rep. Jeff Denham, R-CA, Modesto, CA.
