A dire shortage of health care workers is only expected to grow when millions are expected to gain health insurance through the Affordable Care Act. To help meet the critical need for bilingual health care professionals, there are some efforts to help immigrants health workers who were trained in their home countries to get back into their professional fields. What are new work opportunities for displaced doctors and nurses in the U.S. healthcare workforce? And how does the law intend to increase the healthcare workforce in underserved areas?
