Sexual Violence in the Fields.
A group of farmworking women is urging Wendy’s to help them end sexual violence in the fast-food giant’s supply chain and the agricultural fields of the nation. Activists claim Wendy’s moved its tomato purchases to Mexico, where women violence in the fields goes largely unchecked. In a renewed campaign, organized workers are promoting a toll free line for farmworking women at risk of sexual harassment.

Bias Against Migrant Women. Thousands of women are recruited every year to work in the US on temporary work visas. While both men and women suffer from labor exploitation, women are most affected by gender bias and discrimination in the temporary labor migration programs. They are often victims of unscrupulous employers and recruiters and often get less employment opportunities, less benefits and worse paid jobs.
