Mexican-American Veteran and Holocaust Survivor.
Interview with a World War II veteran who is also a survivor of a German slave labor camp, the first Mexican-American registered as a survivor of the Holocaust. Anthony Acevedo, who was born in California and spent part of his childhood in Mexico after his stepmother was deported, was captured in France during World War II and sent to a concentration camp in Germany. In this interview, he shares painful memories that he kept quiet for decades and that are recorded in a diary that he donated to the museum, the first diary written by a US captive. This is a repeat holiday edition.
