Father of Fallen Soldier.
On occasion of Memorial Day, the father of a fallen soldier remembers his son, who died victim of a US cluster bomb during the invasion of Iraq. After his son’s death, the father became a vocal opponent of current US wars. He comments on the military’s over-recruitment of Latinos, the reality of discrimination and deportations Latino immigrants face after returning from the battle front, the growing rates of young veterans committing suicide, and the poor investment in veterans health care.

Quince Power and Voting at Sixteen. An organization of young Latinos in Texas is trying to harness the natural power in Latino traditions to engage Latino voters and build a culture of voting. An organizer of young voters comments on the potential impact of the new voter population.
