PROGRAM # 8592 12:00 PM PT
The Citizenship Question.
The US Supreme Court heard oral arguments the day before on the Trump administration’s appeal of a federal judge’s ruling barring a question on citizenship from being added on the 2020 census. A ruling is expected by the end of June. In this roundtable, a correspondent reports from Washington on the questions articulated by judges with the conservative majority and the liberal minority, and the concerns gathered from demonstrators and plaintiffs outside the court building. Also, stakeholders give their views on the arguments surrounding this legal debate.
Guests: Jorge Luis Vasquez, Jr., Associate Counsel, LatinoJustice PRLDEF, New York, NY; Cindy Quezada, Survey Data and Operations Manager, Central Valley Immigrant Integration Collaborative, Fresno, CA; José López Zamorano, Reporter, Washington, DC.
