Trump Impeachment: Day 1 of Public Hearings.
This is a report on the first open hearings in the impeachment inquiry. Veteran diplomats William Taylor and George Kent, key figures in the Ukraine scandal, testified about the attempts of the White House to withhold military aid to Ukraine in exchange of investigations against Trump’s political rival. They also revealed a call in which Trump is personally implicated in the pressure against Ukraine. With the televised hearings, Democrats “want to make the case to the American people,” while Trump decried the public hearings. Radio listeners share their views.
