Thursday_673x324THURSDAY, JANUARY 28
PROGRAM # 9155 12:00 PM PST

Trump Impeachment Trial.

The House is turning its article of impeachment charging Trump with “incitement to insurrection” to the Senate, where the trial is expected to begin on Feb 9. What happens next? This is a report on the plans for the court of impeachment, the uphill battle to get 17 Republican votes, and the efforts by some Republicans to settle with a Senate vote to censure Trump.

Guest: José López Zamorano, Reporter, Washington, DC.

Capital Punishment. During his last week in office, President Trump went into an execution spree, overseeing at the end the most federal executions in over 120 years. A criminal justice reformer talks about the corruption of the death penalty, a system plagued with racial bias, and the impact of capital punishment on families and communities. He also comments on the calls on President Biden, who campaigned against the death penalty, to commute the sentences of those on federal death row, the bills pending in Congress to end the death penalty, and a bill in California to ammend the state constitution to abolish the capital punishment.

Guest: Magdaleno “Leno” Rose-Avila, Writer, Human and Civil Rights Advocate, Atlanta, GA.
