PROGRAM # 8431 12:00 PM PT
Florence, Kavanaugh and Ted vs Beto.
The recent storm and massive floods in the Carolinas devastated the farm belt and tens of thousands of farmworkers are among the hardest hit. Are they getting shelter and emergency aid? How prevalent are the rumors about ICE and the fear of uniformed troops? On other topic, amid calls for a non-partisan investigation and attacks from Trump, Senate members set a hearing this week with the Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and his accuser, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, while new revelations against the nominee of another incident of sexual misconduct shake again the process. And, with the race in a dead heat, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Democratic challenger Beto O’Rourke clashed this weekend in Dallas in their first debate, on domestic policy. This is a report on the debate.
Guests: Jose Lopez Zamorano, reporter, Washington, D.C.; Leticia Zavala, Board member, FLOC- Farm Labor Organizing Committee, Dudley, NC; audios of candidates to the US senate, Sen. Ted Cruz and Rep. Beto O’Rourke, Dallas, TX.
