State Anti-immigration Bills.
Legislatures in a number of states are considering legislation seeking to penalize “sanctuary cities” and block local governments from issuing ID cards for the undocumented, among other anti-immigration bills. Warning that those laws encourage widespread racial profiling, pro-immigrant leaders have convened the largest mobilizations in recent years and succeeded in stopping anti-immigration bills in some states.
