Amendment 4 in Florida: Now What?

Starting this week, former felons can register to vote in Florida, after voters in the state overwhelmingly approved historic Amendment 4 in November, restoring the right to vote to people formerly convicted of felonies. And while Governor-Elect Ron DeSantis is trying to delay the law, saying that implementation requires a legislative bill, county election supervisors began processing the forms of the former inmates who, with a mix of hope, gratitude, nervousness and fear, are showing up to be the first to register under the new law.

Guest: Yraida Guanipa, Former Prisoner, Campaign Leader for Amendment 4, Founder and President, YG Institute, Miami, FL

Roma Awards Celebrated. Latino Presidential Hopeful. Domestic workers around the US celebrated the Golden Globes awarded to the acclaimed movie Rome, and its director Alfonso Cuarón, from Mexico. Leaders of organized workers say the film accurately depicts the reality of exploitation and discrimination endured by the workers at the nads of their employers in the US and Mexico and that they will use the movie to educate the public on why the Bill of Rights for Domestic Workers is much needed.
