PROGRAM # 8535 12:00 PM PT

The Impact of the Citizenship Question.

As Trump lawyers urge the Supreme Court to let the Census ask everyone about their citizenship, demographic experts surveyed hard-to-count communities in California’s San Joaquin Valley to study the likely impact of the citizenship question on Latino immigrant response to the Census. In this program, leaders of the survey discuss what they found, the barriers for an accurate count in Latino immigrant communities, and provide recommendations for a complete count.

Guests: Ed Kissam, Census Research Advisor and Author of the Report, San Joaquin Valley Census Research Project, San Joaquin Valley Health Fund, Oakland, CA; Cindy Quezada, Survey Data and Operations Manager, Central Valley Immigrant Integration Collaborative, Fresno, CA; Jesús Martínez, Executive Director, Central Valley Immigrant Integration Collaborative, Fresno, CA.
