FRIDAY, JUNE 10.
PROGRAM # 7802 12:00 PM PT
Mexico Edition.
Twenty-seven days after the teacher’s strike began, teachers continue protesting the educational reform with demonstrations and camp-outs in six states of Mexico. Encouraged by the recent electoral loss by the political party PRI in five states, and by the solidarity shown by union leaders, attorneys and inteleectuals, many teachers believe that their movement will force the government to negotiate in the end. In this edition, the report presented by the organization Open Society Justice Initiative is discussed. The study indicates that crimes against humanity are committed by government forces, as well as by criminal groups. Martha Elena Ramírez hosts Voz Pública from Mexico City.
