Nestora Salgado, coordinator of community police in Olinalá, Guerrero, was freed after two years and seven months in prison, and on this edition, her first message to the media is aired live, in which she announced she will travel to the United States for health reasons and will begin a national campaign to free 500 political prisoners. This edition also includes reports that 78 years after Mexico’s oil expropriation, and two years after President Enrique Peña Nieto’s energy reform, foreign companies are now allowed to import U.S. gasoline to sell in Mexico. To date, Petróleos Mexicanos has laid off 15,000 workers, is in debt, and the director has announced it will leave the operation of three refineries to private companies. Martha Elena Ramírez hosts Voz Pública from Mexico City.
