Voting Rights on the Front Burner.
The House passed H.R. 1, also known as the “For the People Act,” a sweeping anti-corruption and voting rights reform bill announced as the largest overhaul of U.S. election law in a generation. The future of the bill in the Senate is bleak. The vote comes as Republican-controlled state legislatures work on more than 250 measures in 43 states to restrict voting rights. Analysts examine the road ahead.
“Language in the Trump Era.” Trump used language in a polarizing rhetorical style that alarmed many and excited his followers, leading his followers into an alternate reality, sowing political conflict and further dividing the nation along racial, gender, and class lines.
