MONDAY, NOVEMBER 12
PROGRAM # 8475 12:00 PM PT
Power Shift.
In his new book, Power Shift, scholar David Ayón follows the rise of Latinos to political power in California. He tells the story of ten Latino figures from Los Angeles who, overcoming long decades of community marginalization, discrimination and political backlash, paved the way for California’s Latino-led resistance to the Trump regime. Ayon also comments on the political shift brought by the midterm elections and the prominent role played by Latino voters and candidates. He also talks about the death in Los Angeles of leading activist Antonio González. He says Antonio was a very influential social leader who advanced the engagement of the Mexican American people in US political life.
Guest: Dr. David Ayón, Senior Strategist and Advisor, Latino Decisions, Senior Fellow at the Center for the Study of Los Angeles, Co-Author, Power Shift, Los Angeles, CA.
