PROGRAM # 7836 12:00 PM PT
Mexico’s Heroin Market.
A conversation with journalist and writer José Reveles about his new book Echale la Culpa a la Heroína. In his investigative work, Reveles reveals that Mexico has emerged as the second heroin producer in the world, and Guerrero state is the top market area. This is the multi-billion dollar business that the 43 students who disappeared from Ayotzinapa were threatening when they engaged in public protests in the town of Iguala, regarded as the hub of the opium poppy fields. Martha Elena Ramírez hosts the program Voz Pública from Mexico City.
Guest: José Reveles, Contributor, Proceso Magazine, Editor, Filo Rojo Magazine, National Journalism Award 2001, Mexico City.
