Mexico Edition.

The Mexican government has decided to impede social protest, and for that reason it has trained police corps, according to a general and human rights defender, who explains that even the Mexican Army has began fulfilling police functions. The general says the military is trained in crowd control, with a Manual of Civil Disturbances. These actions are unconstitutional and cause serious human rights violations and could unleash more repression. Martha Elena Ramírez hosts this edition from Mexico City.

Guests (pretaped audio): General Brigadier Francisco Gallardo Rodríguez, Ph.D. in Public Administration and Professor at the UNAM, Former political prisoner, Mexico City; Students from the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN); Luis Hernández Navarro, Op-Ed Editor, La Jornada Newspaper, Mexico City.
