In response to the continuous protests for the past two months for the 43 missing students from Ayotzinapa, the administration of Enrique Peña Nieto proposes changes to the Constitution, limiting the right to free demonstrations and allowing military occupation of any territory, displacing even elected officials, explains the specialist in constitutional law, Jaime Cárdenas Gracia. The new laws are already going through Mexico’s Congress and have sparked a growing opposing social movement. Martha Elena Ramírez hosts this edition from Mexico City.
Guest: Jaime Cárdenas Gracia, Ph.D. in Constitutional Law, Researcher at the Institute of Juridical Research at Mexico’s National University, UNAM, and advisor for the political party Movement of National Regeneration (Morena), Mexico City.
