With the arbitrary detention of doctor Jose Manuel Mireles and the creation of the group guardias rurales, the Peña Nieto administration militarized a problem considered to be a public safety issue and made a political prisoner of the man who rose up in arms to combat drug trafficking in the state of Michoacan, said in an interview Francisco Gallardo. Gallardo, a former General in the Mexican armed forces and expert on military matters, suggests for the country to go back to the National Guard; a civilian security detail created during colony times which still prevail in the Mexican Constitution and can be use to truthfully and effectively fight crime. The best example, he says can be seen in the states of Guerrero and Oaxaca, where community police have downed the high levels of insecurity. Martha Elena Ramirez hosts this edition from Mexico City.

Guest: (pre-recorded) General Jose Francisco Gallardo Rodriguez, relieve from his position after proposing the creation of a human rights advocate for the armed forces, Mexico City.
