Host Martha Elena Ramirez, gives an overview of what is happening with a civic movement, “Autodefensas,” aimed at protecting several parts of the country. Civilians in Mexico have gone up in arms demanding social justice; all came together in one meeting to express their demands to Mexican President, Enrique Peña Nieto. Jose Manuel Mireles, from the state of Michoacan stressed his plan to continue fighting and announced he would not give up his cause or weapons. Mireles urged the President to create a law where these groups are included as part of the National Guard. At the same time, other leaders Hipolito Mora and Priest Gregorio Lopez asked the government to release hundreds of Autodefensas members who have been arrested. In this edition, Mexican Congress Representative, Lorenia Valles Sampedro, traveling abroad, discussed from El Paso, Tx, her meeting with group, Mexicanos en Exilio, about the disappearances of families members and the commitment the Mexican government has made to try to resolve these cases.
