Two weeks ahead of the upcoming midterm elections in Mexico, election officials and voting rights advocates comment on the new developments for Mexicans voters living abroad. Mexicans living abroad will be able to cast their ballots for eleven governorships and three legislative posts representing Mexican emigres. For the first time in history, they will be voting online. On the eve of the kick off of online voting, guest analysts from Mexico City, Michoacán and Guerrero, jurisdictions with some of the largest voter registration rolls of Mexicans living abroad, talk about last-minute efforts to get out the vote and advise on the next steps. A legal analyst also comments on the recent call by the Mexican Senate to hear from the public on an affirmative action proposal to establish by law two positions in Congress: one for emigres and the other one for indigenous citizens.
