An international human rights lawyer and advocate on issues of migration, refugees and gender comments on the death of Victoria Salazar, a Salvadoran migrant living in Mexico with a humanitarian visa and killed by police agents in the state of Quintana Roo. She provides her perspective on ongoing practices of gender violence, racial discrimination and anti-immigrant hatred around Mexico. In addition, the consular registration card offered by Mexican consulates has been approved as official identification in the state of Arizona. A top Mexican diplomat in that Southwestern state talks about what this means for Mexican emigres who struggle to navigate the system.
