FRIDAY, MAY 11
PROGRAM # 8327 12:00 PM PT
Mexico Edition.
Relatives of the disappeared ask candidates for the presidency of Mexico to cancel the so-called war against drug trafficking, repeal the Law of Internal Security and allow the action of international organizations to fight corruption and impunity. They rejected the proposal of amnesty of the aspirant Andrés Manuel López Obrador and requested exhaustive legal investigations for the demarcation of responsibilities. For his part, both General Francisco Gallardo and the Bishop of Saltillo Raúl Vera pointed out that the balance of thousands of deaths and disappearances responds to a strategy of territorial control and subjugation of the population, carried out by illegitimate governments that in 12 years have limited the rights of citizens and governed for international organizations. Martha Elena Ramírez hosts this broadcast, from the Voz Pública program, from Mexico City.
Guests; (recordings) Blanca Martínez, director of the Diocesan Center for Human Rights, Fray Juan de Larios AC and coordinator of FUUNDEC (United Forces for Our Disappeared in Coahuila); Francisco Gallardo Rodríguez, general brigadier, human rights activist, Mexico City; Raúl Vera López, bishop of the Diocese of Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico City.
