Cándido Ríos Vázquez, a correspondent for the newspaper of Acayucan, was assassinated in the state of Veracruz, after having previously suffered several kidnappings and beatings. The journalist video-recorded and posted on YouTube a message in which he accuses a former mayor of Hueyapan de Ocampo of embezzlement of public resources. In addition, advocates comment on the seventh anniversary of the massacre of 72 Central American migrants in the state of Tamaulipas. To date, the investigations are kept secret. None of the eight defendants, including a former military man, have been sentenced and the relatives of the victims have not been compensated or have access to the case records. Martha Elena Ramírez hosts this broadcast of the Voz Pública program, from Mexico City.
