For each job created in the process of extracting crude oil, 60 more are created when refining it, explained an expert on petroleum that was talking about the recent concessions that Enrique Peña Nieto´s government granted for the exploitation of crude oil in the Gulf of Mexico. The extractions will be in deep wáters, they will be operated by foreign companies and all the production will be for the US market. The specialist recalled that the Mexican Oil industry was efficient for many years, but the govermment began dismantling PEMEX stopping the production of machinery and ships, disassociating from research institutes and privatizing production areas.
