PROGRAM # 7940 12:00 PM PT
Mexico Edition.
Cotton farmworkers from the states of Coahuila and Durango are denouncing the diversion of federal resources for the benefit of political parties and the privatization of water springs. They point out that the Federal Secretariat of Agriculture handed over to the ruling party PRI (Institutional Revolutionary Party) the funds allocated to cover the losses of cotton production. In addition, they indicated that the dairy farmers monopolize the water, and they only give them enough liquid to irrigate one hectare per agricultural cycle. On the other hand, Zacatecas farmworkers demand guaranteed prices for their products, and that the funds destined to support agricultural activities should stop being distributed only among large landowners. On another topic, Gonzalo Molina, a member of the Community Police, who is currently being held imprisoned in Chilpancingo, Guerrero, reports that his life is at risk due to a lack of medical care. Martha Elena Ramírez, conducts this broadcast of the program Voz Publica, from Mexico City.
