Federal policemen who removed demonstrators that were blocking the roads of Nochixtlán, Oaxaca, testified before a committee of the Mexican Senate on the events that left more than 200 wounded and nine fatalities. One of the officers admitted that he fired his weapon and that several of his partners had their “tactical gear”. No one explained why they entered the town of Nochixtlán, when the mission had already been accomplished. The agents elaborated about the beatings they suffered, some said they were retained by the town people, who later exchanged them for 22 demonstrators captured by police.
