The tributary of the Ajajalpa River, and the springs and streams of towns surrounding it, were licensed to the company Comexhidro, which started construction of a hydroelectric plant to supply the transnational company WalMart with electricity. This is the first of 14 self-sufficient projects authorized by the federal government in the state of Puebla, in addition to dozens of mining licenses that were given to Canadian companies and business groups of Mexican magnates Carlos Slim and Germán Larrea. The residents of San Felipe Tepatlan, Ahuacatlan and Tlapacoya have filed suit in court. Martha Elena Ramírez hosts Voz Pública from Mexico City.
