FRIDAY, OCTIBER 23.
PROGRAM # 7637 12:00 PM PT
Mexico Edition.
The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), proposed by the United States and including Mexico and another 10 countries, is part of the commercial adjustment that all economic blocks are carrying out as the global economy shrinks, according to a U.N. leader. This is why China is promoting a similar agreement in its region, because these commercial blocks will impose the new rules for global commerce. The expert says Latin America should facilitate commerce among its own countries and strengthen itself to negotiate as a block and not in an isolated manner, especially since international oil prices have fallen and exports have been going down for four consecutive years. Martha Elena Ramírez hosts Voz Pública from Mexico City.
Guest (pretaped): Alicia Bárcena Ibarra, Ph.D., Executive Secretary, Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, United Nations, Mexico City.
