MEXICO EDITION.

Five days after the declaration of emergency in the state of Guerrero, mountain villages remain without official help. Neither the Mexican Army with its Plan DN-3 or federal civil protection authorities have helped communities in ten counties, whose inhabitants are sleeping outside for fear that the hills collapse. Children, the elderly and adults lack food, shelters and blankets. The fate of more remote villages is still unknown, as the rivers are swollen and roads destroyed. Martha Elena Ramírez hosts Voz Pública from Mexico City.

Guest: Abel Barrera, Anthropologist and Director, Tlachinollan Human Rights Center of the Mountain, Tlapa, Guerrero.
