PROGRAM # 7597 12:00 PM PT
Mexico Edition.
The case of two alleged victims of forced disappearance, Edmundo Reyes Amaya and Gabriel Alberto Cruz Sánchez, will be brought before Mexico’s Supreme Court, according to attorney Leonel Rivero, after the Secretary of National Defense and the Attorney General failed to carry out a court order to open military jails and call on generals to declare in the case. Rivero says the court order could open the doors to investigate thousands of reported cases in Mexico since the 1970’s. Also on this edition, an oil expert comments on the causes of the fall in the price of oil and the repercussions of the devaluation of the peso for family economies. Martha Elena Ramírez hosts Voz Pública from Mexico City.
Guests: (pretaped) Sandino Rivero, attorney, Despacho Defensa Estratégica de Derechos Humanos; Francisco Garaicochea Petrirena, engineer and president of Grupo Pemex, Constitución del 17.
