The drug cartel Los Caballeros Templarios, continues to operate in the state of Michoacan, and has the protection of police, according to self-defense commanders Luz and Evangelina, who traveled to Mexico City after hearing a rumor that the leader of the self-defense movement, Dr. José Manuel Mireles, would be freed, to demand the liberation of 380 members of self-defense groups who are currently imprisoned.
