Clean-Car Rules in the Crosshairs.
The EPA is rolling back rules on carbon emissions and fuel economy standards for cars. Those Obama-era rules were the most sweeping federal action to put pressure to build cleaner cars and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Analysts comment on the potential impact of this action by the Trump administration, the legal challenge from West Coast states and cities, and the controversial and shady business between the EPA’s head and lobbyists from fossil fuel companies. Also, an analyst comments on the appeal of the case to stop construction of a border wall or barriers on the grounds that Trump overstepped its authority and the plan would divide border families and communities and endanger wildlife.
Guests: Alberto Ayala, Executive Director, Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District, Sacramento, CA; Adrianna Quintero, Director, Voces Verdes, Natural Resources Defense Council, San Francisco, CA; Javier Sierra, Associate Director of Communications, The Sierra Club, Washington, D.C.
