PROGRAM # 9982 12:00 PM PT
Earth Day and Climate Action.
As people around the world prepare to celebrate Earth Day, a leading environmentalist joins this program to discuss how climate change is hitting the planet with increasing power. Climate-related disasters, including hurricanes, floods, wildfires, droughts and heat waves, are hitting Latinos the hardest. How to invest in our planet and our public health? How big is this issue for Latinos? How engaged are Latinos in the efforts to fight climate change? How prevalent is misinformation on climate change?
Guest: Ramón Cruz, President, The Sierra Club, Washington, DC.
New Mexico One Year of the Fire. A year ago, New Mexico was hit by the largest wildfire in the state’s history. Today, families impacted by the fire are still slowly rebuilding. How long would it take to rebuild? How to access emergency relief? Are acequia associations accessing federal aid? How to prevent new disasters?
Guest: Louie Trujillo, Mayor, Las Vegas, NM (TBC); Others TBC.
