THURSDAY, AUGUST 11
PROGRAM # 7855 12:00 PM PT
“Unequal Voices.”
While people of color make up the majority of the population in California, they are not fairly represented in the state’s democracy. Latinos and Asian Americans are the least likely to have a voice in the state’s political process. Those are findings of a new study titled “Unequal Voices.” Why are Latinos so absent from the voting polls, the political meetings and the protests? What’s the impact of this exclusion from the policy-making process on the health of California’s democracy?
Guests: Pablo Rodriguez, Executive Director, Community for a New California, Sacramento, CA; Attorney Esmeralda Soria, Member of the City Council, District 1, Fresno, CA
