Migrant Child Trauma: A Crisis.
A renowned child trauma researcher talks about how the trauma caused by the policy of government-imposed family separation at the border and other widespread threats is seriously impacting the lives of immigrants and refugees. The psychologist talks about the feelings of guilt and anguish that young children of undocumented parents carry with them and the long-term damages to the health of their nervous system, their learning abilities, and the connection with their parents. She also discusses ways to help immigrant children prepare to mitigate the pain and heal from emotional trauma.
