2013 was not the year of immigration reform and the prospects are uncertain in the current session on Capitol Hill. Meantime, the debate continues within the advocacy community about what kind of immigration reform bill to unite around. Can a piecemeal approach be considered? Is the road to citizenship a must? Are provisions such as E-Verify and border militarization a poison pill? What would be possible to achieve in the current political climate of vitriol in Congress?
