US First Undocumented Lawyer.
Sergio García, the first undocumented lawyer in the nation, talks about his personal journey to get a law degree and eventually a law license, a story he narrates in his book “Undocumented Lawyer.” He reviews similar trailblazing cases in New York and Florida, and discusses recent political attacks against DACA, and the future for Dreamers. Also, an immigration analyst comments on recent stories of immigrants, including religious ministers, who are being deported or face deportation through a new ICE tactic called “silent raids,” ICE refusal to use prosecutorial discretion and Republican plans to impose new criminal penalties against undocumented immigrants who cross the border.
