May Day Rallies: Countdown.
Tens of thousands are expected to hit the streets around the nation on the largest May Day rallies since 2006. A broad coalition of labor, immigrant rights and human rights groups are calling to walkout and demonstrate opposition to Washington’s immigrant-bashing rhetoric. This is a roundup on the plans for the protests. Also, a contributor files a report from Texas on the last leg of the Caravan Against Fear, launched in California by activists who are traveling along the Mexican border to challenge anti-immigrant policies and an advocate talks about the resumption of a hunger strike by tens of immigrants detained in Tacoma, WA.
