Canal Once, a Mexican public TV network, premieres today a series titled “Los Otros Mexicanos,” featuring the story of 15 Mexican migrants who are succeeding in their new life in the U.S. Among the personalities, the series features a leader of “Dreamers,” a renowned playwright and film maker, “the King of the Tortilla,” a political leader, a top mariachero, and others. Leading members of the production team join this edition.

Also, Schoolteachers Activism. A conversation with Dr. Tanalís Padilla, a scholar who has written a book on the Mexican agrarian movements in the 40s and 50s. She is currently working on a book on Mexico’s schools for teachers, the normales rurales, and the modern activism of schoolteachers. She also discusses the recent forced disappearance of 43 rural students.
