House Democrats introduced legislation to abolish the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency. Republican leaders quickly to bring up a vote on the bill and on another bill to show support for ICE. What are the politics behind the debate? On other topic, many children who were separated from their parents haven’t been reunited with their parents despite a court order. The Trump administration hasn’t been able to account for many migrant children and many others are reportedly being held in “illegally-operating shelters”. Who should be held responsible? Meantime, advocates warn of yet another wave of thousands of family separations. And after hearing the cries of a migrant child separated from his parents, a distinguished neuroscientist reflects on his own experience as a migrant child and warns about the long-term damaging impact the separation will have on children victims of this trauma.
